Introduction

The 'PWP Plug-in' is a plug-in module for the Macintosh version of the GraphicConverter application. The plug-in extracts and opens the individual pictures from the PWP files created by photoworks.com (formerly Seattle Film Works).

The current 'PWP Plug-in' release is version 1.0b2. There is support for both 68K and PPC versions of GraphicConverter.

About Author

I began programming for the Macintosh back in the late 80s. My first project was a custom apartment management application that was used at an apartment complex. While working at Apple, I wrote code for test tools and I was the main code contributor to the initial release of the Personal Web Sharing control panel. My code contributions also include code fixes in Quicken 2000 and new code functionality in Quicken 2001.

I personally strive to create quality, easy to use programs. I also try to support older Macintosh operating systems and hardware when possible. I am releasing some of my applications because I wish to support the Macintosh community. I welcome constructive feedback and I am striving to release progressively improved products.

System Requirements
  • Macintosh operating systems version 7.6 through 9.1 supported.
  • Both 68K and PPC GraphicConverter versions are supported.
  • The plug-ins work with GraphicConverter v4.0.8 and various other older versions.
Price

This release of 'PWP Plug-in' is a beta release and it can be used for free. I do ask that you please send me email feedback about the program (please include information on the Machine, MacOS, GraphicConverter that you are using). Known Issues & Possible Enhancements
  • There is no plug-in support for the Carbonized version of GraphicConverter so this plug-in along with all plug-ins do not work with the MacOS X GraphicConverter version.
  • The 68K version of the plug-in does work but GraphicConverter 68K running on a 68040 machine is very slow and requires large amounts of memory. If you need access to the picture files in a PWP files on a 68K, I suggest that 'SFW Helper' application be used first and then open the individual SFW extracted files.
